Always involved in the game of golf, Andy played on the University of South Florida
golf team and entered the retail side of the golf business after graduating with a
degree in Marketing. His retail experience led him to Callaway Golf where he served
first as a Field Sales Representative then as Regional Sales Manager, managing a
region of 20 sales representatives and $70 million in sales. Andy visited golf shops
every week and was continually surprised to find hats that fit poorly and used cheap
fabrics. After 13 years with Callaway Golf and learning some of the most important
lessons in commerce from Ely Callaway himself, he followed his instincts and
formed a new golf headwear division with Twins Enterprise, a leader in Major
League Baseball and college headwear. He gained tremendous amounts of valuable
knowledge in the headwear industry although the line was never launched.
Undaunted, Andy joined forces with his longtime friend Harry Conforti to create
their own headwear line, Back 9 USA.
